New Public Engagement Grants awarded

We are excited to announce that IMPRINT has awarded seven new Public Engagement Grants to members whose projects aim to improve the public's awareness and understanding of maternal vaccination, build confidence and address risk perceptions. The projects will run until August 2025 and are funded with up to £12.000 each.

 

The following projects have been selected:

Yen Nguyen (Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, Vietnam): Increasing maternal and neonatal vaccination awareness amongst hard-to-reach groups in Dak Lak Province, Vietnam, through evidence-based community engagement activities

Dr Mary Kyohere (Makerere University, Johns Hopkins University Research Collaboration, Uganda): Engaging male partners for improved recruitment and retention to maternal and infant vaccine trials

Prof. Syafinaz Amin Nordin (Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia): Using TikTok to promote maternal vaccination to pregnant women in Malaysia

Dr Suraj Bhattarai (Global Health Research & Medical Interventions for Development, Nepal): Improving maternal vaccination awareness in Nepal through an audio-visual public engagement (MVac Nepal)

Asad Lilani (The Access Challenge, USA): Voices for health: Empowering journalists and media personality regarding maternal vaccination awareness in Tanzania, Africa

Dr Chinedu Iwu (Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria): Cultural tailoring of vaccination messages: Leveraging culturally adapted audio messaging in the promotion of maternal and infant vaccination uptake in rural communities

Kate Errington (Queen Mary University of London, UK): Exploring maternal immunisation: Learning from the past to inform the present
