The Infection and Immunity Research Institute at St Georges, University of London is looking for a Clinical Research Fellow:

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated infectious diseases physician/pediatrician and/or clinical microbiologist with an interest in antimicrobial resistance and/or perinatal and neonatal infections to work on a maternal and neonatal sepsis study in Kampala, Uganda. As a clinical research fellow, you will be an integral part of Bill and Melinda Gates and EDCTP-funded studies to develop a platform in Uganda for maternal vaccination studies. The focus of the postholder will be to identify infants and postpartum women with infections in a busy unit in Kampala, Uganda and to improve recognition of infection, blood culture and clinical specimen taking and processing and identification of pathogens through our clinical and diagnostic laboratory capacity building programme. Additionally, the postholder will be responsible for working towards antimicrobial stewardship at the hospital.
